How WolfScribed Works

From blank page to finished manuscript — a writing environment that adapts to your genre, tracks your project, and sharpens your craft along the way.

Your words. Your story. Your voice.

WolfScribed does not write for you — and that's intentional. Every sentence in your manuscript comes from you. The AI reads what you've written and offers feedback, the same way an editor or writing partner would. It points out what to look at; you decide what to change. If you want no AI involvement at all, you can still use WolfScribed purely as a manuscript organizer and invite human beta readers to review your work.

01

Create a Project

Organize your writing into projects — one per novel, academic paper, blog series, business report, or technical document. Choose a mode so every analysis, reference panel, and planning tool is tuned to your format and goals.

  • Modes include Novel, Academic, Blog, Business, Technical, and Textbook
  • Each mode shows only the reference tools that apply — character sheets for fiction, key terms for academic and technical writing
  • The project outline lets you jot notes, paste images, and track ideas alongside your documents
02

Plan Your Structure

Open the built-in planner to map your structure before you write — or reverse-engineer what you've already written. The planner adapts to your mode: acts, chapters, and scenes for novels; sections and arguments for academic work; posts and points for blogs.

  • Drag and drop to reorganize structure as your thinking evolves
  • Each item tracks a title, key field (POV, argument, or point), and a summary
  • Link planner items directly to documents you've written
03

Map Your World

Open the visual canvas at any stage — first brainstorm, mid-draft, or final revision — to build a living map of your story's moving parts. Place cards for characters, locations, scenes, and organizations on an infinite board, draw connections, and label them with relationship types.

  • Pin reference photos, mood-board images, and character sketches as image nodes alongside your story cards
  • Label connections with presets like "leads," "rivals," "parent of," or "lives in" — or write your own
  • Auto-layout arranges the board in one click: top-to-bottom hierarchy, left-to-right flow, or grouped by node type
  • Export the canvas as a high-resolution 2× PNG to share with editors, co-authors, or your critique group
04

Write in the Editor

The editor separates writing from editing. Write mode is distraction-free — just the page, saved automatically as you type. Switch to Edit when you're ready to revise: analysis results overlay directly on your prose and you step through each issue one by one. Already mid-project? Drag and drop DOCX, PDF, TXT, or EPUB files to import a full manuscript at once.

  • Focused paragraph mode dims everything outside your active paragraph so you stay in the line you're on
  • Typewriter scrolling keeps your cursor centered on screen — no hunting for your place after every keystroke
  • Sentence-length highlighting in Edit mode marks verbose sentences right in the text, color-coded by word count
  • Fork any passage to try an alternate take — each fork gets its own edit track, you compare both versions side-by-side in Review mode, then canonize the winner or park the other to the Plot Bunny Cage
  • Version snapshots let you label a checkpoint before any big rewrite and restore it later from history
  • Mobile app available — write on your phone, analyze on your desktop, everything in sync
05

Hunt for Issues

Click Hunt for Issues to get a writing score, a plain-English summary, and a full breakdown of grammar, style, consistency, and formatting issues — all powered by Claude AI. Every word on the page is yours; WolfScribed only gives feedback on what you wrote.

  • Filter by issue type — focus on style, grammar, consistency, or format
  • Editor mode steps through each issue so you can apply or skip fixes
  • Learning mode teaches you the pattern, then challenges you to find the rest yourself
  • Narrative Modes analysis (Pro) breaks your prose into seven modes — Dialogue, Action, Description, Interior Monologue, Exposition, Reflection, and Transition — so you can see exactly what your writing is made of and where the balance is off
06

Build Your Reference

Mark documents as Final to generate AI-powered context summaries. WolfScribed uses these to check consistency across your project and extract reference entries — characters and locations for fiction, key terms and definitions for academic and technical writing.

  • Summaries are generated automatically when you mark a document Final
  • Extract reference entries from summaries with one click — no copy-pasting
  • Novel projects also get a full Story Bible and arc analysis across all finalized chapters
07
